Sachs, the victim of lewd prank calls from Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross in October, has been lined up to feature in Dictionary Corner, reports the Daily Star.
The rumours have left some fans of the Channel 4 quiz speculating that Sachs might use the appearance to get back at Brand and Ross.
"It's going to be must-see telly to find out if he has a dig at them," one fan said. "It's going to be so tempting for him with all those letters to hand."
The new series of Countdown, to be hosted by Jeff Stelling and Rachel Riley, begins on January 12.
