'Gavin' house owner bothered by fans

Julia Dwyer's £335,000 residence, which is located in a village near Cardiff, doubles as Gavin Shipman's childhood home when filming for the BBC sitcom is taking place. In return, Mrs. Dwyer receives a fee from the show's producers - but she has now claimed that the inconvenience has become too great.
"It was a bit of fun at first but as the show has grown, so has the interest from the public in seeing where the scenes are shot," Dwyer told The Mirror. "People come and ask for a look round our own home. We're fed up with it. It's an invasion of our privacy.
"And, what's worse, I'm embarrassed about the effect it has had on my neighbours. They get people knocking on their doors asking where Gavin's house is. It used to be a lovely, quiet street here, but now the world and his dog drives here demanding to have a look.
"I hope my neighbours don't think I'm awful for letting the show use my home. I owe them a huge apology, I think."
Dwyer added that she agreed to appear in a BBC Three behind-the-scenes special, which aired earlier this week, after being "cajoled" by producers.
She said: "It was a mistake on my part but I honestly believed it would put a stop to people being curious if they saw it on TV. How wrong could I have been? It's got even more people interested in coming over."
