Stelling praises 'Countdown' co-host Riley

Speaking to the Radio Times, Sky Sport's Soccer Saturday host voiced his admiration for Riley, who takes over from Carol Vorderman as the Channel 4 gameshow's numbers and letters girl on January 12.
He said: "She's drop-dead gorgeous, and clever with it. She's 22, blonde, beautiful, an Oxford maths graduate, very confident - she'll be a big, big hit."
Stelling downplayed his importance in the show, saying: "I'm the man who stops and starts the clock. Rachel has the brains, she does the calculations, she's got the looks... and I start the clock."
Discussing the public's potential reaction to him in the Countdown presenter's chair, Stelling joked: "They'll probably just think it's still Des O'Connor, but with a facelift and having put on about four stone, maybe."
