The exercise guru, real name Derrick Errol Evans, donned his trademark colourful lycra, bandanna and glasses for his appearance on the breakfast programme.
Evans, who first appeared on the morning show in the early 1990s, said that he was returning to the screen to help tackle Britain's growing obesity problem.
"If you walk along any high street, you'll see bigger backsides than ever," he told The Independent. "And there's safety in numbers - as the people around you grow larger you stop noticing it.
"Nowadays, I see fat policemen. You never used to get fat policemen as they would be on the beat. Now, they are in their cars."
The 56-year-old, who lives in Jamaica and visits the UK, added that he decided to return to GMTV after his 12-year-old daughter started gaining weight when her school dance lessons were cancelled.
