Dyke, who was forced out of the BBC after the Hutton inquiry, is said to have "jumped" at the opportunity to host the quiz show and is prepared to face the jokes fired his way from team captains, Paul Merton and Ian Hislop.
The new series of the show will begin on Friday 16th April, with Dyke's turn in the hotseat coming on the second programme, aring Friday 23rd at 9.30pm.
A BBC spokeswoman said: "Greg is available at the moment and it's great to see him back at the BBC."
