Stelling: 'Countdown signs are good'

Jeff Stelling has revealed that he thinks his first time in the Countdown presenter's seat went well.

The Soccer Saturday host, who follows Des O'Connor in the role, said that he hopes viewers give the revamped quiz show a chance.

"The signs are good. Some of the audience came up to me afterwards and said they'd enjoyed it. The acid test is what the viewers think," he told Zoo.

"All I'd say is give us some time. People hate change but hopefully they'll get used to my terrible humour! What I can say for sure is that I've loved doing it. I just hope people love me doing it!"

Stelling this week said that his Countdown co-host Rachel Riley is "drop-dead gorgeous".
