'Fit Farm' axed from C4's 6pm slot
Published Wednesday, Apr 7 2004, 23:36 BST | By Neil Wilkes

The twelve-week show, which follows ten members of the public as they attempt to get in shape while living in a luxury health farm, began strongly a month ago with 1.7m viewers. By yesterday however, ratings had dipped below the 1 million mark, putting Channel 4 last in the rank of terrestrial channels at the time.
At the weekend radical changes were made on the programme, including the axing of most of the farm's staff - including the manager - and the decision to put half of the contestants "on probation."
The Fit Farm will go out at 6pm for the last time on Friday, April 16, before returning on Tuesday, April 20 at its new regular time of 9am.
US comedy Friends has been lined up as a replacement.
