Andy Scott-Lee has warned celebrities of the dangers of appearing on reality TV shows.

The pop singer said that having your life turned into a TV programme is guaranteed to ruin any relationship.

"Don't do a reality TV show - it's the death of any marriage," he told New!.

"It all looks great and yet while the money is good, it's not just a TV show, is it? It's your life and you do get swept away with all the ideas of specials and future episodes."

Scott-Lee and former partner Michelle Heaton appeared on MTV's Totally Scott-Lee in 2005 and ITV2's Michelle and Andy's Big Day in 2006.

"The final straw was when it was suggested we try for a baby," he said. "I figured it was time to get out and not just of reality TV."

Scott-Lee split from Heaton in 2008. He later alleged that she cheated on him with number of men, including ex-EastEnders actor Matt Di Angelo, the nephew of a famous footballer, an ex of one of her friends and one of his own best friends.
