Eurovision hopeful Charlotte knocked out
Charlotte Finlay-Tribe has been knocked out of the televised search for the UK's entry to this year's Eurovision Song Contest.

The 17-year-old was in the bottom two acts following the public vote for the BBC's Your Country Needs You last night.

Andrew Lloyd Webber used his casting vote to keep male group The Emperors Of Soul in the contest.

Finlay-Tribe was the second act to be ousted from the competition, following the earlier departure of London singer Damien Flood, 36.

Acts going through to next week's live semi-final are The Emperors of Soul, soul singer Jade Ewen from East London, pantomime actor Mark Evans from North Wales, and identical twins Francine and Nicola Gleadall from Sheffield. The winner will represent the UK at Eurovision in Moscow on May 16.

The theatre impresario has already claimed that winning the title this year is "mission impossible", insisting that the UK has no chance.
