Charlie Brooker plans 'News Wipe'
Published Thursday, Jan 29 2009, 19:14 GMT | By Mayer Nissim

The programme will be called Charlie Brooker's News Wipe and will air this spring on the same channel.
It will be made by Endemol subsidiary Zeppotron, the production company co-founded by Brooker which recently produced the Guardian journalist's zombie drama Dead Set for E4.
Brooker said: "This is new territory for me - I'm no current affairs expert. Just like, I suspect, many people, when I tune into the news I often feel like I've wandered into episode 389 of the world's most complex soap opera.
"So it's also about me trying to make sense of a bewildering and often bloody stupid world."
Brooker co-wrote Nathan Barley with comedian Chris Morris, who created the news parody The Day Today with Armando Iannucci in 1994.
