Shaun Ryder 'silent in Shameless cameo'

Shaun Ryder has revealed that he only agreed to play a cameo role in tonight's episode of Shameless if he did not have any lines.

Last year, it was reported that the former Happy Mondays frontman would play himself in the Channel 4 show.

It was claimed that the singer would join Mickey and Shane Maguire - who is dressed as Morrissey - to take tourists around Manchester.

Ryder told The Mirror: "I don't really like doing owt like that, but the part was cool because I didn't have to speak or anything. I tried, I can't do it - I'm hopeless."
