Paterson: 'Sea Of Souls' unlikely to return
Bill Paterson has admitted that Sea Of Souls is unlikely to return for any future episodes.

The Scottish actor starred as Professor Douglas Monaghan in the supernatural drama, which ran on BBC One from 2004 until 2006.

Speaking to DS, he said: "I'd love to do some more, but I think that's it really. I did two or three seasons of it and then the one-off.

"I thought it would have been nice to do two specials every year, but it's an expensive option and television companies don't really want to have one-offs. They prefer to have long-running things.

"Sadly for all the fans of Sea Of Souls, I don't think we'll do any more. You'll just have to make do with the half a dozen or so we did."

Paterson can be seen in ITV1's Law & Order: UK from February 23.
