Alan Dale's recurring character in The O.C. - wealthy entrepreneur Caleb Nichol - is being upped to that of a full cast member next season.
In the season one finale, Caleb finally got hitched to Newport gossip queen Julie Cooper (Melinda Clarke), keeping secret news that he was on the verge of losing his fortune.
The O.C. is set to return November 2004 to FOX in the US; season two is set to premiere January 2005 on Channel 4 in the UK.
