Leslie Ash 'may never walk again'

TV actress Leslie Ash has been told she may never walk again, the News of the World reports today.

Doctors have apparently given her just a 50-50 chance of being able to walk again after she contracted the MSSA bug while in hospital for other injuries.

The star, 44, has now been ill for nine weeks, during which time she's lost 2 1/2 stone and any feeling in her lower body.  Friends have described how she now looks a bluish-white in colour.

"She is going to be in hospital for months and months until there is an outcome," said one.  "The nerves need to slowly recover.  The problem is that Leslie has loads of time to think and she keeps worrying that she'll never walk or work again.  She is naturally full of gloom because she fears she could be crippled for life."

Ash is most famed for her role as Debs in the sitcom Men Behaving Badly.
