'MasterChef' 2009 winner crowned
Mat Follas has been crowned the winner of MasterChef 2009 after serving up a three-course meal with a 'wild ingredient' theme.

The 42-year-old said that he was "delighted" with his culinary win and hopes to open his own restaurant one day.

According to PA, the IT engineer from Beaminster, Dorset, offered a trio of wild rabbit starter, a main course of spider crab with hand cut chips and sea vegetables, and a dessert of lavender mousse with hokey pokey and a blackberry sauce.

Follas said: "I'm humbled and proud that my dishes won such an amazing competition. It's been a fantastic experience and I've learnt an enormous amount."

He added that the experience had been "gruelling" but "great fun".
