Friends spin-off Joey is set to be bought for around $1million (£550,000) an episode in the UK, after producers Warner Bros put the show 'up for auction', prompting a bidding war between Channel 4, BSkyB and Channel 5.
British buyers saw the pilot in Los Angeles last month and gave it reasonable reviews, but were said to brand it "no Friends".
The new series of Joey sees Matt Le Blanc reprise his role as Joey Tribbiani, following him as he pursues his acting career after moving to Los Angeles.
