3.9m tune in for 'Jade's Legacy'

ITV1's Jade's Legacy: Tonight pulled in 3.91m (16%) last night, according to overnight viewing figures.

The show, which replaced Pets Undercover: Tonight between 8pm and 8.30pm, examined the controversy over Goody's final weeks in front of the camera and looked at what Jade's legacy will mean to other women at risk of cervical cancer.

It fared better than BBC One's Panorama, which drew 2.79m (11.3%) between 8.30pm and 9pm.

Over on BBC Two, a new series called Railway Walks logged 2.97m (12.2%) during the first half of the 8pm hour. The audience then dropped to 2.46m (10%) for the second episode of James Wong's Grown Your Own Drugs.

Channel 4's Dispatches and The Gadget Show on Five remained fairly even throughout the hour, each averaging 1.18m (4.8%).

Law & Order: UK performed well for ITV1 at 9pm, drawing 6.09m (26.2%), an increase of 330k on last week. The crime drama attracted twice as many viewers as nearest rival Comic Relief: The Fools' Guide, which managed 3.01m (13%) for BBC One.

Also at 9pm, the latest episode of Heroes drew 1.74m (7.4%) to BBC Two, while the second episode of Five's Extreme Fishing With Robson Green took 1.5m (6.5%).

Channel 4's Cutting Edge film Addicted To Surrogacy came last during the hour, pulling in 1.4m (6%).

ITV1 had a comfortable lead in primetime with an average share of 27.2% to BBC One's 19.7%. BBC Two was third with 7.6%, followed by Channel 4 with 4.9% (+1: 0.7%) and Five with 4.3%.

Elsewhere, Katie Price: Life Stories Uncut - the extended version of yesterday's Piers Morgan's Life Stories - performed well for ITV2, pulling in 792k (4%) during the 9pm hour.

Heroes drew 732k (5.7%) for BBC Three at 10.30pm, while the double bill of 24 grabbed an average of 399k (2.2%) for Sky1 between 9pm and 10.50pm.
