The acerbic chef will topline the ten-episode series for US network FOX, with filming beginning in September.
However, unlike the original - where untrained celebrities run an exclusive restaurant - the American show will feature ordinary men and women being put through their paces.
FOX has earmarked Hell's Kitchen for a Friday night slot.
