BBC One is to screen a new six-part series later this spring after the success of previous series Casualty 1906 and Casualty 1907.

Tom Hughes, Paul Hilton and Anton Lessor will star in Casualty 1909, which will once again revolve around life at the Royal London Hospital a century ago.

The show, featuring revolution and violent protests, will see Sarah Smart and Strictly Come Dancing star Cherie Lunghi reprise their roles as Matron Eva Luckes and Sister Ada Russel respectively.

The series will begin on Sunday, June 14 at 9pm on BBC One.
