'Animal Autopsy' for new Channel 4 season

Rex Features

Channel 4 will screen a new four-part documentary series titled Animal Autopsy as part of its spring and summer season.

The series will show the dissection of a number of creatures including an elephant, a giraffe, a crocodile and a whale.

Each dissection will be handled by an expert in the series, while biologist Richard Dawkins explains what the animals' different anatomies reveal about evolution.

The care system will also be put under the spotlight in Channel 4's Britain's Forgotten Children season, which will open with Adopt Me, a show following four households of would-be adopters over 18 months as they search for homes for unwanted children.

Single drama The Unloved - featuring the story of a young girl growing up in a children's home - will complete the season.

In addition, the channel will air Kirstie's Homemade Home, a new show from property guru Kirstie Allsopp, which will see her attempt to build a new home under the weight of the recession.

Also returning are Big Brother, Come Dine With Me, Embarrassing Bodies, Wife Swap, 8 Out Of 10 Cats and teen comedy The Inbetweeners.
