Just Jack has criticised reality TV shows and claimed that most of the people who emerge from talent competitions do not have lasting success.

The singer, real name Jack Allsopp, told thelondonpaper that he is not a fan of shows like The X Factor, which he attacked in 2007 single 'Starz In Their Eyes'.

Allsopp said: "I think the term 'reality TV' is nonsense. The minute a camera comes out people act differently, so that's not reality.

"These shows are about TV and its ratings. I don't think they're particularly about music. Here in the UK, I don't think it's used as a pool for finding talent."

He added: "Very few people have had longevity."
