Madeley backs Klass for 'This Morning'

Myleene Klass would be an "excellent" replacement for Fern Britton on This Morning, Richard Madeley has reportedly claimed.

The 52-year-old, who hosted the show with wife Judy Finnigan for 13 years, said that the former Hear'Say singer would shine on the ITV1 daytime programme.

Britton announced last month that she was quitting the show at the end of its current series after a ten-year stint.

"I've worked with Myleene Klass when Judy had a week off to have some work done on her eyes and she was very good, extremely good and she'd be excellent although she is very thinly spread at the moment," Madeley told The Daily Telegraph.

"[She does] so many things so that might have an impact."

Madeley added that Melanie Sykes, 38, who has also been linked to the role, would be a good alternative as she is "very switched on".
