David Van Day has insisted that his live TV dumping of Sue Moxley was "totally genuine".
Speaking at last night's DS Reality TV Awards, the I'm A Celebrity... star said that his announcement on The Wright Stuff last week was not staged.
"People hated me for it, but what can you do?" he said. "But I think Sue's forgiven me. She's come with me tonight. She's a very beautiful girl. It was genuine though, I was not happy that she had let me down. Who knows where it will go now?"
He added: "I'm very lucky that she's taken me back."
