The romantic comedy, based around a young fashion designer battling an evil ex-boss, also stars Lenora Crichlow and Michael Landes.
Former Doctor Who star Kirwan is cast as Davina Bailey, a scheming designer, while Crichlow will play Ali Redcliffe, who sets out to make a name for herself in the fashion world.
Landes will portray the character of Marco, a business partner who wants to make Ali a star.
"We're delighted to make this show for BBC One," said series producer Gareth Neame.
"Viewers can expect all the glamour and colour of the fashion world, alongside warm, witty and colourful characters and, above all, the dreams and passions of a tight-knit group of friends."
The six-part series is due to air later this year.
