Neanderthal makes impressive debut

Channel 4's new drama-documentary, Neanderthal made an impressive ratings debut on Monday evening.
The first of the two-part series averaged 3.1 million (13%) from 21.00. It went up against BBC2's Horror in the East, which averaged 2.6 million; and Channel 5's Serial Killers, which took 1.6 million (7%).
New BBC1 drama Thin Ice, starring Nicholas Lyndhurst, took 5.3 million (22%). Over on ITV, Michelle Collins' Daylight Robbery took 7.8 million (33%).
Later in the evening on BBC1, an Omnibus special on dying comedian Dudley Moore did well. Dudley Moore: After the Laughter took 3.3 million viewers.
