Channel 4 will air a new Saturday morning chart show from next month, C21 reports today.
The programme - hit40uk - will take the 10am slot during the T4 strand beginning September 4, putting it head-to-head with youth shows on both ITV and the BBC.
The half-hour countdown show, which will also air on E4, is based on a chart used by commercial radio stations and collates a playlist from sales, airplay and interactive votes from listeners.
DJ Simon Hirst will provide the voiceover for the show.
