Corrie at 40: Swear ban for actors
Published Friday, Dec 8 2000, 13:47 GMT | By Neil Wilkes
Bosses at Coronation Street have issued a reminder to cast and crew not to swear during tonight's live episode.
Each member of the team has been issued with a list of 20 'banned' words and have been warned they will be in trouble should they use them. The episode goes out before the 9pm watershed, and could land the show in trouble with watchdogs if swearing is accidentally transmitted.
An insider told the Sunday Mirror: "Some of the stars would make a sailor wince with the language they use when they make a mistake during recording. The actors are all professionals but things do go wrong. It could be disastrous if it happened live, especially as The Street has so many young fans."
