Mitchell: 'Bafta nod unfair on Webb'

Rex Features

David Mitchell has said that it is unfair that he was recognised at last night's Bafta Television Awards while his Peep Show and sketch-comedy partner Robert Webb was not.

Mitchell won the award for best comedy performer, while Webb was not nominated for the individual gong, The Mirror reports.

Peep Show lost out to The IT Crowd in the best situation comedy category, while Harry And Paul beat That Mitchell and Webb Look to the prize for best comedy programme.

Mitchell said: "It is a bit unfair on him. I haven't said anything to him about the fact I was nominated and he wasn't.

"If I said, 'Sorry, mate!' he'd be perfectly justified in punching me in the face."
