Former Twin Peaks actress Madchen Amick is set to join the cast of ER as a new love interest for Dr. John Carter.
She will make her first appearance in the fourth episode of the show's upcoming eleventh season, and has signed up to appear in at least ten episodes.
Madchen will play a social worker who ends up falling for Carter.
Carter was dating Makemba 'Kem' Likasu, played by Thandie Newton, last season. It is not yet known whether she will be returning.
ER returns to US screens on September 23.
