TOTP ban on Goldies
Published Wednesday, Aug 25 2004, 09:16 BST | By Daniel Kilkelly
Top of the Pops bosses have decided to ban rappers Goldie Lookin' Chain from appearing on the show.
The group are currently at number three in the charts with their single 'Guns Don’t Kill People Rappers Do'.
However, producers have decided against letting the rappers appear on Friday's episode, in fears that they might swear.
A spokesperson for the show told The Sun, "They are just not suitable for a pre-watershed programme.
"There’s too much chance of them swearing. And the song talks about guns and violence."
A small pre-recorded interview with the band is to be shown instead.
