Rebellion on 'How Not To Decorate'
Published Saturday, Aug 28 2004, 11:13 BST | By Daniel Kilkelly
Justin Ryan and Colin McAllister, stars of Five's How Not To Decorate, were left with a half-decorated house when builders sensationally walked off the show.
A report in The Mirror today claims that Ryan and McAllister, who also starred in BBC Two's Million Pound Property Experiment, treated builders so badly during filming of the show that they decided to rebel.
The series sees Justin and Colin tackle badly decorated homes.
The pair apparently complained repeatedly about first design assistant Katie Sheffer. The newspaper claims that she stormed out in tears, saying, "I'm sick of it".
They then pushed foreman Andy Acason too far. He told a workmate, "I'm f***ing off. They can clear it up themselves." Many other members of the team followed.
"This isn't a makeover show - this is real," Justin complained. Luckily, they eventually managed to persuade the team to come back.
A spokesperson for Five said, "The relationship was bound to be stretched because of the deadlines."
