Richard and Judy's New Position, which airs on digital channel Watch, will end on July 3 after viewing figures slumped from 100,000 to 8,000 within four months.
On the future of the couple's TV partnership, a source told The Mirror: "Judy is keen to lower the pace. They have not ruled out working together again, but it will not be on another chatshow."
Meanwhile, a Watch insider defended the decision to drop the series, explaining: "Disaster doesn't even begin to cover it. They insisted they had a loyal audience but it became apparent within days that this was not the case. It was decided just to put them out of their misery."
Finnigan insisted that she would be happy to quit TV for good in October last year.
