Twins special gives Tonight big ratings

A Tonight... With Trevor McDonald special on conjoined twins Mary and Jodie was a good ratings hit last night, according to early figures.
The special averaged 5.9 million (34%) from 22.00 and featured an interview with the twins' parents and three of the doctors who performed the operation to separate them.
Meanwhile, 5 million (25%) tuned in for the BBC Ten O'Clock News.
Earlier in the evening, Match of the Day Live, which saw Liverpool go through tot he next round of the UEFA cup, averaged 6.2 million from 8pm.
