'Skins' star for Miranda Hart sitcom
>Skins star Luke Pasquilino has landed a guest role in a new BBC Two sitcom based on Miranda Hart's life.

The actor, best known for his character of weed-smoking skateboarder Freddie in E4's Skins, will be joined by regular cast members Patricia Hodge, Sarah Hadland, Sally Phillips and Tom Ellis.

Based on the semi-autobiographical writing of comedy actress Hart, the aptly titled Miranda follows her public school background, agoraphobic tendencies and attempts at dating.

"Since I can remember I have wanted to be a comedian and so to have my own show on the BBC is a total thrill, albeit slightly unnerving!" said Hart. "To have actors like Patricia Hodge and Sally Philips interested in my writing, let alone agreeing to do the job, is a real honour."

The six-part series has commenced filming and is due to air this autumn.
