Graham Norton's Saturday night variety show is struggling to find an audience, the latest ratings figures suggest.

The BBC One series began a fortnight ago with a decent 4.31m (21.9%) but last week the audience tumbled to 2.93m (17.4%). The most recent episode pulled in just 2.58m (14.7%) between 7.30pm and 8.30pm on Saturday.

It was beaten in the slot by All Star Mr & Mrs, which had 4.65m (26.5%) for ITV1.

Earlier, the penultimate episode of Robin Hood took 3.39m (20.7%) for BBC One but was less popular than ITV1's Animals Do The Funniest Things, which appealed to 3.77m (23.6%).

The latest National Lottery draw was seen by 4.39m (23.3%) at 8.30pm, then ten minutes later, Casualty pulled in 5.22m (25.6%), the highest audience of the day on any channel. It was followed by Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, seen by 4.22m (21.7%) from 9.30pm.

A new episode of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? had a respectable 3.95m (19.5%) for ITV1 over an hour from 8.35pm, then comedy Mumbai Calling put in 2.1m (10.8%).

Five's screening of The Magnificent Seven averaged 890k (5.2%) between 6.35pm and 8.35pm, then a rerun of NCIS appealed to 1.17m (5.8%). A new CSI: NY claimed 2.03m (10.6%) from 9.30pm, then Law & Order closed off prime for Five with 1.19m (8.7%).

BBC Two documentary China's Capitalist Revolution interested 806k (4.4%) between 7.30pm and 9pm, then the audience lifted to 1.89m (9.1%) for an extended edition of Friday's Have I Got News For You.

The latest update from the Big Brother house logged 1.23m (6.1%) for Channel 4 in the 9pm hour, roughly static week-on-week but a decline of around 16% on the audience for the equivalent episode from last year's run.

Earlier, the latest episode of medical drama ER grabbed 540k (2.9%).

BBC One was on top in primetime overall with an average audience share of 20.3% to ITV1's 18.7%. Five was third with 7.3%, followed by BBC Two with 6.4% and Channel 4 with 4.6% (+1: 1%).

ITV2's Saturday night movies lineup proved particularly popular in multichannel homes, with 662k (3.9%) tuning in for Jurassic Park 3 from 7.30pm then 457k (2.8%) remaining for Kevin and Perry Go Large.
