Andy Murray's first-round match win at Wimbledon pulled in a solid audience for BBC Two last night, according to early figures.
The match, against American Robby Kendrick, averaged 3.57m (20.5%) between 6pm and 8pm, peaking with 4.68m (23.5%) at 7.40pm. A round-up of the second day's play, Today At Wimbledon, then drew 1.58m (8.1%) for the channel.
Also at 8pm, ITV1's World's Best Diet attracted 2.69m (13.8%), the third episode of Property Snakes And Ladders logged 1.74m (8.9%) for Channel 4, and 1.29m (6.6%) tuned in for a new series of Monster Moves on Five.
Holby City led the hour, putting in 5.06m (25.9%) for BBC One.
The second episode of BBC One's Waking The Dead came top at 9pm, pulling in 3.35m (16%). Its nearest rival, Five's CSI season finale, had an impressive 2.8m (13.4%) but failed to top the season high of 3.95m (16.9%).
Ladette To Lady managed 2.73m (13%) for ITV1, BBC Two's Mary Portas: Save Our Shops took 1.91m (9.1%), and the fourth and final part of Channel 4's I'm Running Sainsbury's grabbed 1.35m (6.4%).
Highlights from the Big Brother house drew 1.79m (10.6%) for Channel 4 in the 10pm hour, down around 1.47m on the audience for the equivalent episode from last year.
Overall, BBC One came top during primetime with an average share of 20.7% to ITV1's 15%. BBC Two was third with 11.6%, followed by Five's 8.2% and Channel 4 with 7.2% (+1: 0.8%).
Elsewhere, Living's Ghost Whisperer averaged 392k (2%) during the 9pm hour. It beat the second episode of BBC Three's Personal Affairs, which had 204k (1.1%), and Sci Fi's Dollhouse, which delivered 154k (0.8%).
Also on Sci Fi, the latest episode of Knight Rider put in 233k (1.3%) at 8pm.
