The columnist told Metro that upcoming eight-part gameshow You Have Been Watching will be different from his past TV work.
Brooker said: "There is an element of me awarding points, sometimes arbitrarily. It's like a conversation, hopefully a funny conversation, where basically I am ruling the roost because I get to dish out points now and again.
"Since I started Screenwipe, people have come to me with TV ideas but this is the first one I have liked."
He added: "I mean me hosting a TV audience? That's weird, isn't it? It's an interesting challenge. I've got no idea if it will work or not."
You Have Been Watching premieres on July 7 at 10pm.
