The comedian is co-host of Channel 4's topical news programme the TNT Show, which has drawn criticism for its 'Gilbert's Special Report' sketch.
The regular feature uses disabled actors in intentionally botched interviews with unaware celebrities, including the Cheeky Girls and Paul Danan.
Whitehall told DS: "It's not my segment and I didn't really have anything to do with it, filming or conception. But, there are things that people get offended by on TV and I think that it's just so subjective.
"As a comic my threshold for offence is a lot higher than other people's. I don't think I could be offended by anything."
He added: "I see so many comics on stage and even on TV saying horrendous things that I don't think I could be offended [by] unless a comic actually came round to my house and attacked a family member or was rude to my little brother. That would offend me!
"I understand that there are people who do get more easily offended than others but I think there's always an argument that there's a remote control there. If you find it not to your taste you can just change channel."
TNT Show continues tonight at 11.10pm on Channel 4.
