The cast and producers of hit teen drama The O.C. will be given the keys to the city of Newport Beach in the real Orange County, California later today (Thursday).
The likes of Benjamin McKenzie (Ryan) and Tate Donavan (Jimmy Cooper), as well as exec producer Josh Schwartz and others will turn out for the ceremony at the waterfront Balboa Pavilion. They will also become the first people to set their handprints in the city's new Walk of Fame.
Newport Beach Mayor Tod Ridgeway will rename today "O.C. Thursday" in honour of the show's positive effect on tourism in the area.
The O.C. begins its second season next Thursday, November 4, in the US.
