C4 Winter: UK 'Playing It Straight' planned
Published Wednesday, Nov 3 2004, 18:03 GMT | By Neil Wilkes
A UK version of the controversial reality series Playing It Straight will air on Channel 4 in the New Year, the network announced today as part of its Winter programming launch.
The show - cancelled in the States after three episodes - sees a young single woman looking for love amongst ten handsome male suitors.
Unfortunately for her, some of the guys are gay, pretending to be straight in order to win the £100,000 cash prize. If the female ultimately picks a straight guy, they split the money but if she chooses a gay man, he takes it all.
June Sarpong will host the UK version, which was filmed over six weeks in Mexico earlier this year.
