Norton drinks for boring TV interviews

Graham Norton has admitted that he sometimes drinks alcohol to get him through boring TV interviews.

Speaking on E!'s Chelsea Lately, the chatshow host and comedian said that a small tipple helps him "perk up" for less interesting guests.

"It just keeps you interested, you know what I mean? If a guest is being a bit boring you go 'ah wine, my friend'. And then you perk up," he said.

Norton also claimed that he was enjoying his time in America because there is less chance of him catching swine flu there.

"In Europe it's all we can think about is swine flu," he said. "Cherie Blair, you know Tony Blair's wife, she has swine flu."

Chelsea Handler's Chelsea Lately airs at 10:30pm on Tuesday on E!
