Final 'Top Gear' draws 6.4 million
The series finale of Top Gear was the most-watched programme last night, according to the latest ratings figures.

The final episode of the current series drew 6.38m (27.9%) for BBC Two during the 8pm hour. Its nearest rival, BBC One's Countryfile, put in 4.78m (20.9%).

Also at 8pm, attracted 1.72m (7.5%) to Channel 4, and Five's Britain's Nazi King - Revealed had 743k (3.3%).

Agatha Christie's Poirot averaged 3.16m (15%) for ITV1 between 7pm and 9pm.

The second episode of BBC One's Rivers With Griff Rhys Jones came top during the 9pm hour, pulling in a respectable 5.19m (22.7%). It built on last week's opener, which managed 4.71m (20%).

Man On Wire logged 1.92m (8.8%) for BBC Two between 9pm and 10.30pm, 1.86m (8.2%) tuned in for the latest visit to the Big Brother house on Channel 4 at 9pm, and Five's Steven Seagal film Mercenary For Justice interested 1.12m (5.4%) between 9pm and 11pm.

The first instalment of ITV1's three-part drama Single-Handed, starring Owen McDonnell and Ian McElhinney, had 4.22m (20.6%) between 9pm and 11pm.

Overall, BBC One came top during primetime with an average share of 20.9% to ITV1's 17.8%. BBC Two was third with 14%, followed by Channel 4 with 6.4% (+1: 0.7%) and Five's 5.1%.

Elsewhere, Sky1's double-bill of House took 632k (3%) and 591k (3.5%) at 9pm and 10pm respectively, and the third part of BBC Three's Young, Dumb And Living Off Mum put in 621k (3%) during the 9pm hour.
