The 32-year-old actor admitted that he no longer enjoys fronting programmes because his hosting style provokes too much criticism from viewers.
Dyer, who previously had his own Deadliest Men programme on Bravo, will now concentrate on securing movie roles.
"I'm never doing TV presenting again," he told Zoo magazine. "I filmed my last bit of Deadliest last week and it's over."
The Football Factory star added: "You need a thick skin, I don't mind if my films get slagged off because it's a part I'm playing but when people are digging me out for who I am it hurts."
Earlier this year, Dyer was tipped for a part in EastEnders after he met with controller of BBC drama production John Yorke. However, he eventually claimed that he had turned down the chance to join Albert Square.
Walford sources later told DS that producers were confused over Dyer's remarks, confirming that the actor had merely arranged one meeting with chiefs which did not bear fruit.
