X-Files end in sight?

The X-Files may not run beyond an eighth series, according to creator Chris Carter.
Speaking to theprovince.com, he said that newcomer Robert Patrick had provided the show with some new "creative juice", and if they can think of more ideas for a ninth series, then they will continue.
"There are great plans but we're not quite there yet," he said. "David Duchovny has become a part-timer, but he does return for several episodes."
