Celebrity Big Brother from March
Published Saturday, Jan 13 2001, 16:23 GMT | By Neil Wilkes
A celebrity version of reality series Big Brother will go ahead in March in aid of Comic Relief, it has been announced.
Although names are not confirmed, those expected to take part include Mel B, Chris Evans, Frank Skinner and Mariella Frostrup. The week-long project will see one 'contestant' evicted each night until the grand finale on Friday, Comic Relief night.
Channel 4 will air highlights each day and offer a highlights package to the BBC for broadcast on the Friday evening, although the BBC also want to broadcast daily highlights over the seven day period. Negotiations continue.
As with the original series, action will be broadcast live over the internet, and possibly via new digital station E4.
