The 18-year-old triumphed over Brandon Bryant during last night's programme, which saw a record-breaking 21.6 million votes cast.
Speaking to E! Online after the show, she said: "It honestly feels like nothing right now. I just feel numb from head to toe.
"I know when it does hit me, I'll probably run around my apartment 5,000 times screaming at the top of my lungs. Other than that, I'm just so excited to be here."
The two-hour finale saw the judges' favourite routines from the series revisted, before host Cat Deeley announced the results. Kayla Radomski was the first to be eliminated, followed by Evan Kasprzak, before Mason was named the winner.
She added: "I'm so happy that I didn't go home and was still here and that I got voted America's favourite dancer, which is just ridiculous."
Bryant later admitted that "for a split second" he thought that he "could have a chance" at winning the show, but conceded: "I knew that [Jeanine] was strong and I knew that I was strong. This time was for her reach, not mine."
Mason, who is the second female to win the programme, scooped a prize of $250,000.
