The 47-year-old announced that she would not return for the ninth season of American Idol earlier this week. It had previously been reported that Fox offered her a substantial raise to stay on as a judge.
Nigel Lythgoe recently said that he wants Abdul to join the So You Think You Can Dance panel and she has now revealed that appearing on the programme could be a possibility.
She told The AP: "I am not going to rule that out. I'm a dancer, a choreographer. Dance is a love of mine. But I have yet to sit down and discuss anything with anyone. It's all happening within the next couple of weeks."
American Idol will retain its four-judge format for the upcoming season in January, with Katy Perry and Victoria Beckham signing on as guest judges.
