Cult gameshow The Weakest Link is returning to a primetime slot on BBC1, despite rumours to the contrary, it has been confirmed.
A BBC spokesman said that a new series had been commissioned for broadcast next week. The format will not take the Champions League approach adopted in October of last year however, instead the BBC1 shows will follow the standard format.
