Lineker: 'Live TV scarier than football'

Gary Lineker has claimed that live television is more terrifying than taking penalties in the World Cup.

Speaking to the Radio Times, the Match Of The Day Presenter said that TV work "didn't come easily".

He revealed: "My first live programme was a highlights show during Euro 1996, which was terrifying - much worse than taking penalties in a World Cup shoot-out.

"It certainly didn't come easily and it's something I've had to work really hard at over the years. On the first MOTD after we got the highlights back from ITV a few years ago, everything that could possibly go wrong technically did."
