US 'Talent' finale brings in 911,000

The finale of America's Got Talent brought in 911k (4.8%) to ITV2 in the 9pm hour on Friday night, according to early figures.

The third season of the reality show aired last summer in the States but has been playing out on ITV2 since the finale of Britain's Got Talent in May. A fourth season is currently on the air in the US.

On Friday night it dominated the 9pm hour and ranked as the most-watched multichannel programme of the day. A further 160k (1%) watched the ITV2+1 repeat at 10pm.

Elsewhere at 9pm, the fourth series of Hotel Babylon bowed out to 3.06m (14.9%) for BBC One. A repeat of Kingdom put in 2.53m (12.3%) and on BBC Two, the comedy movie Grow Your Own averaged 2.17m (10.8%) between 9pm and 10.30pm. NCIS took 1.63m (7.9%) for Five.

The latest Big Brother highlights show managed 2.4m (11.7%) for Channel 4 in the 9pm hour, then at 10.35pm, the eviction of Freddie interested 2.41m (15.2%). E4's subsequent edition of Big Brother's Big Mouth pulled in 531k (5.8%).

At 8pm, Gardeners' World delivered 2.04m (10%) to BBC Two, while on Channel 4, A Place in The Sun: Home Or USA? logged 1.07m (5.3%). Five's You're Nicked! had 826k (4.1%).

A half-hour visit to Airline managed 3.23m (16.4%) for ITV1 from 8pm, then at 8.30pm, BBC One's Traffic Cops picked up 2.6m (12.5%).

Overall, ITV1 finished ahead in primetime with an average share of 21.7% to BBC One's 18%. BBC Two was third with 9%, followed by Channel 4 with 7.6% (+1: 0.6%) and Five with 5.7%.
